Lotsa Cuteness Around the Farm!

The weather has been sooo beautiful for the last couple days!
The lambs loved the opportunity to spend some time running around outside.
It's so cute to see them bouncing around!

It was a little hard to get pictures since all 5 lambs wanted to climb all over me to look for a bottle.

"Hey wait a minute...why isn't there any milk coming out of this?"

Psalm 118:24 "This is the day that the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!"

New Ram in the Fam :-)

I've always had a weakness for spotted lambs :-)  That's why I kept a wether last year who really is good for nothing more than wool and companionship.
I feel very blessed to have acquired this little guy today.  I've wanted a spotted ram for a long time!  Thank you Lord!!!

My very handy husband rigged up this bucket feeder so that I don't have to bottle feed mr. ram.  The Gregorys (who I bought him from) let me borrow the nipple dewhicky.  So kind of them!

This way, hopefully, he won't become too friendly and get dangerous as he matures.

Rose, Russel, and Ruthie

These little triplets are so cute!
This one is Rose...

This one is Russel (full name Russel Wilson, of course :-)
I'm not really into football, but hey, anyone would want a ram named that!
Just trying to keep this cutie from getting eaten.  lol
And sweet little Ruthie.  She's my favorite so far this year!

First Batch of Soft Cheese~ Sheep Cheese!

This was such an easy cheese to make, and so delicious!  It is creamy just like cream cheese, but with a little sweeter "milder" taste.  I mixed basil into part of the batch, hoping that after it sits for a bit it will be a little more flavorful.

Not only is it delicious on crackers, it's also good mixed with sheep milk ricotta and used as a filling in Ravioli!  Click here for that recipe on our new food blog!

Janet also suggested it's use as a topping for baked potatoes and in Lasagna.  Mmmmmm!

More Triplets!

Thank you Lord!  All three seem healthy and happy.  The black one is a ewe lamb, and there is one white ewe and one white ram.

I'll post more pictures when they're not so goopy-looking...this is about 2 hours after birth :-)

Traveling Lambs

We had a good laugh today as we drove off to home-group with two lambs stowed behind the passenger seat. Oh, the life of a sheep farmer :-)  It's difficult to go anywhere during lambing season, unless you're willing to take babies with you. Which is actually pretty my opinion...I won't speak for Richie though LOL Pansy and Jasmine were pretty good and quiet traveling lambs!

Okay, so I saw this goofy picture floating around Facebook...I thought I'd have some fun and re-create it with my own lamb. :-)

First Lambs of the Year!

Lilly had triplet ewe lambs last night...unfortunately one didn't make it, but the other two appear very healthy and happy!  LOVE that I got a black one this year!  I've really been hoping for one!

Lilly has quite the looks big enough to be a cow's.  She seems less kicky this year, so I'm hoping she'll be a better milker!  She sure is producing a lot!

More Snow!

About 4-5 inches of snow fell up here last night.  We had an interesting snowy slippery trip home from Chehalis last night, but we were very thankful that the truck didn't have any problem getting us home.

Partially frozen Mayfield Lake.

Richie braved the cold snow to change windshield wipers while in town yesterday.

 Smokey and Pronto

 Richie's firetruck

The greenhouse is shedding the 4-5 inches of snow very well!

Lucy and Hank are having a great time playing in the snow!
