November Checklist of Must-Haves

1. Christmas tree -Check
2. Nativity-Check
 3. Cool awesome trunk full of  brand-new yarn found at a garage sale to put Christmas tree and nativity on (whew) -Check.

 4. Huge 1,000 lb haylage bales for the cows this winter- Check


 5. Cute big black ram to make lots of lambs for spring ;-)  -Check

6. A smart handsome husband to run tractors and stuff- Check
 (This farmin' is serious business.)
 (Well, not THAT serious. :-)

 7. A big beautiful barn to store animals, hay and other...ahem...stuff... -Check
 8. Delicious snacks-Check

 9. A lovely, sweet assistant to help me set up at craft Bazaars and keep me company-Check.


10. Last but not least...an amazing Lord and Savior who...has extravagantly blessed me with ALL of the above...and SO MUCH MORE!

Food!


 God has blessed us with such and abundance of food!  This is the meal we had a couple nights ago.  And I'll tell ya...it was all Richie's idea to take pictures of it (something he immensely enjoyed.) He wanted to do this so bad that he even stopped in the middle of his dinner to do so. 
His motivation?  He wants all of you to be able to enjoy this kind of home-grown food too.  
That's why he wants me to post all of the recipes for this meal.  So, that's what I'll do :-)

 This is the real thing...a home-grown grass-fed burger on a home-ground wheat bun with home-made sauerkraut and mayo.  Garden-grown (except for the onions) coconut oil Wok-cooked veggies and potato Joes. 

Potato Joes: 
 
 Sauerkraut

Bread 6 C. Water, 3 TB yeast, 3/4 c. honey, 2 tsp salt, flour, 1/2 c. coconut oil or shortening
Mix together warm water and yeast.  Add honey and salt.  Mix in enough flour to make a standard bread-dough consistency.  Knead in the oil, adding more flour if necessary.  Let rise 1 hr.  Roll into 3-inch balls and flatten them on a cookie sheet.  Let rise 30 min.  Bake 350 for 15-20 minutes


Mayonnaise  2 egg yolks, 3/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp mustard, 1/8 tsp sugar, pinch cayenne pepper, 4-5 tps vinegar 1 C. oil, 4 tsp hot water.  Buzz all ingredients but oil and water in food processor or blender.  Drizzle in oil and water alternately in a VERY small stream (almost drip-by drip.)  Mixture should thicken to the consistancy of store-bought mayonnaise.  If it separates and looks gross, you've poured in your oil too fast and nothing you do will salvage it :-(  

WOK Veggies  Heat your coconut oil in the WOK.  Add chopped veggies of any sort (This time of year we really love a mix of Onions, Carrots, Kohlrabi, Broccoli, and when in season, Cucumbers and Zucchini.  Sprinkle in some seasoned salt.  Cook over high heat until all caramelized and delicious.  It's so sweet, it's like eating candy! 



 Found another neat recipe on Pinterest yesterday an gave it a try.  
This may be, perhaps, Daddy's worst nightmare.  Banana Ice Cream.  Nothing BUT banana ice cream.  Clever, huh?!
It's ridiculously simple, and a great thing to do with bananas that are starting to get mushy. 
Freeze the banana in slices 
 Blend them up in a food processor with a little milk.  It takes a little while to get them all blended up, but I didn't smell that burning rubber smell (which usually means you're burning up the food processor's engine.) lol  So it must not have been all that awful bad.

At this point you can add vanilla or chocolate syrup for chocolate ice-cream.  It's so light and fluffy!

Today's Events

Valerie and I had a fun day today at the Salvation Army craft Bazaar in Centralia!  
I was so thankful to have Valerie there with me for company while I sold my products. 
 So sweet :-)

 These are my latest projects.  I had a wonderful time crocheting flowers and headbands while we sat there.  People seem to really love these!  There's definitely a "big flower" fad going on right now.  It's no wonder to me...they are SO cute.  Good thing I have a baby sister to dress up...it would be no fun without her!

 Lots of fun colors and combinations!  You can change the flower to match every outfit.  
How cool is that!
As Grandpa says "Preeeety nifty!"
