Hello!  Here are a few pictures from yesterday :-)

The last couple of days I have been working on some plum leather.  A kind lady gave Richie an entire box full of delicious yellow plums.  It turned out really good!
Who knew that sheep like cayenne pepper plants? :-(

Petunia says "mmmmmmm!"

Hanky boy!

Bo is visiting us for Labor Day.  He brought along his "parents" Aunt Mary and Uncle Harold.
We're going to get to see lots of family this weekend!  It will be busy and fun, I am sure!!!

1 Peter 4:7
"The end of all things is near, therefore, be of sound judgement and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.  Keep fervent in your love for one another because love covers a multitude of sins."
I just finished reading 1 Peter.  What an amazing book, full of truth and great instruction!  I want to try to memorize lots of verses from 1 Peter, so I printed a bunch off, laminated them, and posted them all around the summer kitchen.  Been wanting to do that for a while!  Life on the farm has just been so busy that I have difficulty setting aside enough time to work on memorization.
Of course, the one above the sink is the one that I am practicing the most.  I think I have 1 Peter 4:7 down now!!! ;-)

Life on the Farm

Hanky boy drinking out of Rosie's bucket because as you know..."the water's always clearer in someone else's bucket!"

Love these lambs!  I feel so blessed to have these little guys, even if they are terrible trouble makers. I'm sure Janet and Richie have wanted to turn them into sheep jerky a few times, and I can't say they haven't deserved the freezer more than few times. LOL But they sure are friendly!

And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands." Psalm 19:1

Richie's Birthday!

Richie had a wonderful birthday weekend!
On Thursday there was a big party thrown at the Bowes was such a FUN time!

Then, on Saturday and Sunday he got to spend the entire day at one of his favorite events...the Toledo Threshing Bee and flea market!  In his own words "what could be better than a bunch of junk surrounded by tractors?"

I sure do love this guy :-)
We were so happy that Ron stopped by to visit!

The threshers hard at work!  This is such a neat thing to see!

Richie visited with lots of people, as is the norm. :-)

We got to see some friends get accidentally soaked by a big truck that was supposed to be wetting down the tractor-pull ground.  At least it wasn't a very cold day...and really, they don't look that worse for the wear... lol
Rich picked up  Uncle Darrell and brought him to the Threshing Bee so he could see the tractor pulls and sample an ear of corn :)
 It sure was good!
 Yep, he's one happy guy!!!

A few pictures

I am very blessed.  I am very blessed by an amazing man that the Lord chose to give me as a husband.  He is a man after God's own heart.  Happy Birthday tomorrow Richie, I love you!

So.  We recently decided to purchase Photoshop.  I enjoy photography so much, and was excited to take my hobby a step further.  Unfortunately, Photoshop is continually crashing my computer so badly that I have to do a complete system restore.
But I'm still hoping that I'll be able to get it figured out!
I did have a wonderful time playing around with a few photos, but did not get Richie's birthday ones edited yet.  You can go to my mom's blog to see hers! :-)

This was a beautiful apple off of the old transparent tree.  It smelled amazing!  (And tasted great too!)

The Lord has blessed us with a WONDERFUL blackberry harvest this year!!!  We have already picked a 5 gallon bucket and a half this year!  This is a pot of blackberry/blueberry jam.  I also canned up some blackberry/blueberry syrup!

This is one of Richie's latest projects.  He's trying to get a little pickup truck up a running again.  He got pretty dirty!
