The last few days have been pretty good ones. Richie had another blood test yesterday, which we are praying will turn out good. He had one a week ago that was not so great...one of the "tumor marker" numbers was up. The other number that they watch was negative, which is exactly what it should be. SO, they are hoping the one higher marker number was caused by something else.
Today I was reading in Romans and came across this passage. Isn't it funny how you can read though a chapter of the Bible multiple times and still stumble upon hidden gems that you didn't notice before?
"Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor, not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. Rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality."
Now that is a verse that is packed-full of instruction. I'm going to make this verse my special focus and project for a week at least, knowing that actually I'll be working on all of these things for the rest of my life. I find it less overwhelming to focus on certain areas of Godly character a little at a time. Isn't it interesting how God works on us a little at a time as well? He doesn't convict us of everything that is wrong in our lives all at once, lest we become discouraged and frustrated.
Well, better go for now, I can hear Richie's truck coming down the road, back from work. ;-)
