Today we drove up to the hospital for the 3rd round of chemo. Only 1 more to go after this!
A BIG THANK YOU to all of the WONDERFUL people who posed and sent photos of themselves with signs to decorate our wall. Wow. We entered our room to find that our wonderful family had decorated it before we arrived. You guys are incredible, and we love you all so much!!! Everyone has enjoyed looking at each special unique photo...it brought us and several of the nurses to (happy) tears, and will continue to do so throughout the week I am sure. What would we ever do without all of you, dear friends and family! Each one of you are precious to us and God has used you in a special way to lift our spirits and encourage us.
These last few days Richie has felt very well. It's rather unfortunate that he has to go into another round as soon as he starts feeling good...but it's better that way than to have to go in feeling terrible already. The cancer markers are continuing to drop, which is a very good thing!
It's hard to see in this picture, but some friends from church had a very creative idea..they held signs on some of the rides at the amusement park...this sign is being held upside-down on "The Ring of Fire" ride!
Wow! All of those pictures are going to make a wonderful scrapbook when we take them all down at the end of the week. :-)
Since it's hard to read what the folks' signs say, here are some of the verses they put on some of them.
2 Corinthians 2:14 "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place."
Romans 15:13 "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Proverbs 3:5-6 " Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,And He will make your paths straight."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
Encouraging verses from God's word is one of the things that keeps us going day-to-day. I honestly don't know how anyone could go through something like this without the knowledge that the Lord is right there with us though it all, and gave his Word to us to convict, encourage, and strengthen us throughout our lives. He is so good to us...to Him be the the glory and honor forever and ever for all that He has done!
