Another Month Gone By

Hello everyone!

I’m sorry my page here has been such a ghost blog of late.  I see it's been almost a month since my last post.  Things have been very busy, but there’s really no excuse!

So, because I’ve been prompted numerous times, here’s the update J

Wedding plans are coming along very well.  I have my dress and accessories, the bridesmaids dresses and accessories, most decorations are planned, the favor soaps are all made (I’ve been bagging them in little organza bags these last few days…phew…lotsa little bows to tie ;-)  The main colors are purple, white and silver, as well as some black.  Mommy has been amazing…she’s made so many phone calls and has picked up almost everything we need from the stores in town.  She’s been working so hard!

Yesterday I worked on planning our garden with Janet, Richie’s mom.  We had a very fun time snacking on chocolate chips, getting hay from the neighbor, and bribing Bessie the cow back into the field where she belongs ;-)  And we even had time to get the garden all planned out!  I’m so excited…we certainly have plenty of seeds to plant, and more than twice as much garden space as I’ve ever been able to work with. (I always got the evil eye from Kyle when I considered expanding the garden…into baseball field. lol)
Let’s just hope and pray we actually get to see the sun this year!

Next week our 3 new swarms of Italian bees should be arriving down in Oregon.  Richie bought a couple of Warre hives to try out, and we will use one of my old Langstroth ones.  All of my bees ended up dying this year, because of various unfortunate circumstances.  Ugh.  That’s life though.   From what we’ve read, we’re thinking the Warre hive boxes are going to be better for the bees, and maybe easier for us!

I had to work on transferring my website from officelive to office 365 the last few days…what a horrible experience it has been!  I’ve spent several years and hours upon hours working with Microsoft Office, and yet they made it so horribly confusing and agonizingly difficult that I just about took Tim Hawkin’s advice to “trouble shoot” my computer.  (You’ll have to go watch his tech support song on YouTube ;-)  You’d think after so many years in the business Microsoft would get the clue that we the people are clueless and don’t understand all their terminology and plans. And the worst of it was, I thought that today was the day when my account (all of my emails and my website) would completely disappear! (Apparently that will happen April 30th if I don’t transfer.)

Anyhow, that whole mess is over with, thankfully!  For any of you that weren’t in my contact list, I had to change my email, so you won’t be able to reach me at,, or  If you want my new email address, leave me a comment and I’ll email ya ;-)  (I won’t publish your comment if you include your email address.)

Well, I better sign off for now.  Blessings to all of you!!!!

Here are a few recent pictures :-)

Here's the Scoop!

What a beautiful day we have today!  There is snow on the ground, it is still and quiet, and the sky is a bright blue with only a few fluffy clouds.  I have lots of plans for the day…we’ll see what I actually end up getting done!  I should spend the whole day out in the sun…
...I could use the extra vitamin D ;-)

My ewe Elsie got mastitis, so I’ve been busy dealing with udder treatments and injections for that in the past couple of days.  I started making wedding favor soaps, and also have another large soap order to fill.  My little pepper and tomato seedlings seem to be doing well in the garage…the Serrano peppers sprouted much quicker than I expected!  The Nasturtiums are looking good too!  One of Valerie’s dogs is due to have her pups soon, so she is anxious and excited about that.  All of the quads are staring driver’s ed, and Timmy will begin T-ball before long.

Richie and I started our pre-marital counseling with our pastor and his wife last Sunday.  We had a wonderful time talking with that sweet, godly, encouraging couple!  As I sat there and listened to my man talk about his childhood experiences and his future goals and dreams, I was once again amazed...almost to the point of tears.  He and I have talked about these things many times before, but yet, I am still amazed by God and what he did in Richie’s life.  I am amazed at every single one of the many gifts that God gave to Richie (Some of which I don't think he even realizes!)  I am amazed by Richie’s desire to serve the Lord with gladness and build a family on a firm foundation of Biblical truth.  I amazed that God gave Richie generational vision and an eternal perspective on life.  I am amazed that God caused this wonderful man to walk into my life, and I am amazed that Richie would want to spend the rest of his life with sinful, flawed girl like me!  I amazed that God can bring an imperfect man to an imperfect woman so that they could be heirs together of the grace of life, and be something more together then either one of them could ever be alone.  I am so in awe of God and what He has done, and I am in awe of this godly man that I am so very privileged to call my fiancĂ©!
This morning I am just full of profound thankfulness for all of the good things God has done for me and for my family.  He had blessed me far beyond what I could ever ask!

Psalm 111:1=9
Praise the LORD ! I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart, In the company of the upright and in the assembly.
2 Great are the works of the LORD ; They are studied by all who delight in them.
3 Splendid and majestic is His work, And His righteousness endures forever.
4 He has made His wonders to be remembered ; The LORD is gracious and compassionate.
5 He has given food to those who fear Him; He will remember His covenant forever.
6 He has made known to His people the power of His works, In giving them the heritage of the nations.
7 The works of His hands are truth and justice ; All His precepts are sure.
8 They are upheld forever and ever ; They are performed in truth and uprightness.
9 He has sent redemption to His people ; He has ordained His covenant forever ; Holy and awesome is His name.

Some Pictures

"You stand gaurd while I try breaking in through this window."

"I wasn't eating mud off the pickup." (refer to pic. #1)

These are Elsie's two lambs, who are not bottle babies like my other girls.  They are friendly little sheep though!

Spring is still a ways off, but a few of my evergreen plants have blossoms on them already!

The chives have been growing for a few weeks now...even through the 5 inches of snow!
