Tips ;-)

Hay Fever
Vitamin C is known to be one of the best natural antihistamines.  250 ml a day is supposed to be sufficient to keep the hay fever down, but I also read that you can never take too much vitamin C, as it is rather rapidly excreted in the urine.

Headaches
Relieving a headache may be as easy as swinging your arms.  It’s the basis of a treatment called “Li Shou, which in Chinese means “hand swinging” Li Shou works because it counteracts the swollen cranial blood vessels that cause your head to throb and ache.  By swinging your arms, you shut down the flow of blood to your limbs and reduce the flow of blood to your head.

Calcium for stress
Here’s a way to justify a bowl of ice-cream!
“During a time of sudden emotional stress, think calcium.  When you are stressed, blood levels of calcium can dip, and even a tiny decrease in calcium in the blood can produce uncontrollable temper outbursts.   (I disagree with that, btw.  As Christians, we should always be able to control our temper if we’re not mentally ill.)
So, in a stressful time, reach for some cheese, yogurt, or a glass of milk.” (Or ice-cream! heeehee)

Laughter Therapy
“Experts now recognize that humor is therapeutic, especially when it’s positive and shows appreciation for the paradoxes and absurdities of life.  It enhances respiration and lowers carbon dioxide in the blood.  It is good exercise and a great stress reducer.
Funny those experts just started to realize that.  For thousands of years the Bible has said we should be cheerful :-)  God sure is smart :-)

Psalm 68:3 But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful.
Proverbs 15:13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit
Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones

  1. Love your informative posts! But I had to add one thing. I guess you can take too much Vitamin C (at least in vitamin form). My sweet friend Deanna took A LOT recently to avoid a sickness going around and she ended up with a kidney stone- not fun! So be careful with the Vitamin C :) Love you!!!
