A fact that might not surprise you:
After the terrorist attack of 9/11, the Government declared the steel taken from the wreckage un-safe for Americans to re-melt or salvage in any way because of possible "live blood-born pathogens."

They shipped it to China and India to be melted and sold back to…us.

Smart move huh?

Anyway, somehow someone was able to save only 3 pieces of the wreckage, one of which can be seen at the Veteran’s Museum in Chehalis.  A couple large pieces of the Pentagon are also on display inside the museum as well.
It bothered me so much to hear that our government would so flippantly sell off nearly all of the remaining steel.  Why didn’t they at least allow pieces to be donated to museums all over the U.S. to help us all remember that terrible day?

  1. Hi Lydia! I am loving catching up on your blog. You are a beautiful young lady and I'm so proud of you. I wanted to let you know that Phoenix has a monument for 9/11 and they have a piece of the steel there, we saw it a few months ago. So maybe there are a few more pieces out there.

  2. Hi Aunt Heather!!!

It's so good to hear from ya! miss all of you so much!

That's really neat that there is a piece of the W. Trade Center in Phonix. Maybe there are more than the musium guy told us there are:-)
Happy Father's Day to Uncle Keven, and much love to all!
